HOW TO PREPARE NIGERIA STARCH
There are two type of starch (edible and starch for clothes) the major concentration is on how to prepare the edible starch.
Edible starch is a common food to that is served with banga and owo soup. It’s a common combination among Deltans, Edo, Itshekiri and more. Like fufu and other African (Nigeria) soup combination it’s easy to prepare and it’s fast.
To prepare starch, these are the ingredients to have in place.
INGREDIENTS
- Starch
- Water
- Palm oil
- Cooking utensils like pot.

STEPS TO PREPARE STARCH
STEP 1: Mix starch in a bowl till it’s broken. Mix with water and mix properly till the starch blends into the water.
STEP 2: pour mixed content in a pot and add a teaspoon of palm oil to give it the yellowish color after cooking. Stir the oil into the content properly then proceed to the next.
STEP 3: put the pot with content on a gas to heat up. When it is boiling, you stir with a turning stick till the mix content becomes solid. Although it may take a short while before it becomes strong therefore be prepared.
STEP4: keep stirring till you get your desire then it’s ready to be served with any soup you want.

NOTE: if starch becomes too strong, you can add a little water till you get what you want.
Cooking starch is not a difficult thing to do. After your starch is fully prepared, it gives you a yellowish look that makes it very attractive. The meal is soft and easy to swallow and does not have any smell.
